Download and install - Update Galaxy S3 LTE I9305 with Official Jellybean 4.1.1 XXALI5 Firmware

Step-By-Step Instructions:
Step 1 - Download Android 4.1.1 I9305XXALI5 for Galaxy S3 to your computer and extract the zip file.
Step 2 - Download ODIN v1.85 which will help you to install Android 4.1.1 on Samsung Galaxy S3 I9305.
Step 3 - Switch OFF your phone. Now go to Download Mode. How? Press and hold the Volume Down + Home buttons together, and then press the Power button till you see the construction Android robot and a triangle. Press Power again to confirm to enter into Download Mode.
Step 4 - Make sure you have your Galaxy S3 USB drivers installed on your computer.
Step 5 - Open ODIN on your computer. Connect your phone to your computer while your phone is in the Download Mode.
Step 6 - If your phone is connected successfully, one of the ID:COM boxes will turn yellow with the COM port number. This step might take some time.
Step 7 - Now select the files that you have to flash/install on your phone. These files are to be found from the extracted files in Step 1.
  • Click on ‘PDA’ and select file with ‘CODE’ in its name.
  • Click on ‘Phone’ and select file with ‘MODEM’ in its name. Ignore this step if there is no such file.
  • Click on ‘CSC’ and select file with CSC’ in its name. Ignore this step if there is no such file.
  • Click on ‘PIT’ and select the .pit file. Ignore this step if there is no such file.
Step 8 - In ODIN, check the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time options. As for the Re-Partition option, check it ONLY if you selected a .PIT file in the above step.
Step 9 - Now click on the Start button in ODIN. Installation process will start and would take a few minutes to complete.
Step 10 - After the installation is completed, your phone will restart. After you see the home screen, unplug your phone from the computer.
That’s it. Your Samsung Galaxy S III LTE has now been updated to Android 4.1.1 build XXALI5 firmware update. Go to Settings > About phone to verify.

How to Install ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) on Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300


  • The process may result in losing all of your data like apps, messages, contacts etc. So first of all take back up of all data to work risk-free.
  • Uninstall the antivirus from device (if any).
  • Don’t let the power of the device to create any problem for you. So keep your device charged at least 50 percent.
  • Download the ClockworkMod from here.
  • Download Odin v3.04 from here
  • Extract Odin3_v3.04.zip
  • Enter your Galaxy S3 into download mode by pressing the Volume Down + Power + Home buttons together.
  • Now connect your Galaxy S3-I9300 to your computer by using USB cable.
  • On successful attachment, you will see the “Added” message in Odin window.
  • In Odin, click the PDA button and select the ClockworkMod.zip file from there.
  • In the Odin, click on ‘Start’ button in order to start the flashing of ClockworkMod recovery image on your Galaxy S3-I9300.
  • When the flashing gets completed, your Galaxy S3 will reboot automatically.
  • You can disconnect your Galaxy S3 from PC after the Samsung Logo gets appeared.
  • To enter into the recovery mode, press Home and Volume Up buttons.

Procedure to Update Galaxy S3 with XXDLI5 Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware:
  • Open Odin executable file in your computer and turn off your Galaxy S3 device so that it can be entered in the download mode.
  • The download mode in Galaxy S3 GT I9300 can be entered in recovery mode by pressing the Volume Up rocker key + power button at the same time while the device is turned Off. If the device starts in the normal mode, you need to re try the process of the entering the device into the download mode.
  • Connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and click on “PDA” in Odin to select the tar file “I9300XXDLI5_I9300OXADLI5_I9300XXDLI5_HOME.tar.md5”. Ensure that the ID : COM section in Odin has turned yellow.
Note: If ID : COM section doesn’t turn Yellow, you need to check with two things which are mentioned below,
        Install the USB Drivers in your computer &
        Go to the Path “Settings > Wireless & Network > USB Settings” and ensure that “Samsung KIES” option is ticked before connecting the phone to the computer.
  • Click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. Make sure that the re partition option is not ticked. . Please be informed that the device will take longer time than expected for rebooting the device. To check on whether the firmware is applied successfully or not, you will have to check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone > Firmware Version” where it will be shown as Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware Update.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

  • Download XXDLI7 Firmware Package from here to your computer. Connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place the zip file in your device’s memory card.
  • Disconnect the device once the file is copied in the computer and turn off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode. Recovery mode in Galaxy S III GT I9300 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button).
  • In recovery mode, select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from sd card” and then choose the placed XXDLI7 Firmware Package. Once the file selection is over, the firmware will be applied within 10 minutes, you can see the progress of firmware update with the help of a progress bar.
  • As soon as the firmware is applied successfully, you will have to select “Go Back” to select the option of “reboot system now” for rebooting the device in the normal mode.
Note: Just in a rare case if your Samsung Galaxy S III refuses to turn ON or say if it gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy S3 Logo then you need to long press the power button to turn off the same or re insert the battery to start the process from the start.
  • If you get any force close errors, then turn off the device and enter the device in the recovery mode to select the options of clear cache and wipe data as it will clear out all the cache data which are responsible for force close errors.
To check now on whether the firmware has been updated or not, head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” and see whether it reads XXDLI7 firmware version 4.1.1 or not. Once it’s selected, it will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying the update. Also, note that it may take longer time than the normal time for the first reboot.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
To check on whether the firmware has been successfully applied or not, all you need to do is to just head over to the path “Settings > About Phone” where in you can check the same on the firmware has been updated or not.

  • Download XXBLG8 ICS Firmware Package and XXDLI1 Jelly Bean Firmware package from here to your computer. Connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and place these two zip files in your phone and disconnect the device.
  • Now, turn off the phone so that it can be entered in the recovery Mode. Recovery mode in Galaxy S III GT I9300 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button).
  • While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Also, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
  • Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from internal sd card” and then select the XXBLG8 ICS Firmware Package and XXDLI1 Jelly Bean Firmware package which you have placed in your device in the same manner. Once you have selected the file, it will take around 3 – 4 minutes for applying the same.
  • Please note that initially it will take more than 4 -5 minutes for turning the device ON and will get stuck on the S Logo for a while. Just in case if you are getting the force close errors, turn off your phone and enter the same in the recovery mode. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” for clearing all the data which is creating the force close errors.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

  • Don’t let the power of the device to create any problem for you. So keep your device charged at least 50 percent.
  • Install ClockworkMod recovery on your phone.
  • Download the zip file of the  ROM here.
  • Download GAPPS.zip from here.
  • Make sure to save  files on internal SD card of phone.
  • Press the VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER buttons to enter into the recovery mode.
  • You can scroll through the options by pressing Volume Up and Down button. To make selection of any option, press the Power button.
  • Now select the ‘Install Zip From SD Card’ option and choose the .zip file of the ROM from your SD card.
  • Select ‘Yes, Install__.zip’  to proceed further with the process.
  • The whole process is done. Be patient for the update to get completed. Generally it takes about 2-3 minutes.
  • Follow the last three steps to install GAPPS.zip on your AT&T Galaxy S3.
  • After the reboot, your AT&T Galaxy S3 will be running on MIUI Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean ROM.

Procedure to Update Galaxy S3 GT I9300 with XXDLH7 Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware Update:
  • Download XXDLH7 Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware Package and Odin for Galaxy S3 GT I9300 from here to your computer.  Once downloaded, extract he same to get the Odin executable file and I9300XXDLH7_I9300OXADLH7_I9300XXLH7_HOME.tar.md5 file.
  • Open Odin executable file from here to your computer. Once opened, you will have to turn Off your Galaxy S3 device.
  • Download mode in Galaxy S III GT I9300 can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which a green robot will be shown indicating the Download Mode has been entered.
  • Connect your Galaxy S3 with your computer / Laptop and then in Odin you will see that the ID : COM section will turn Yellow indicating that all the drivers are installed successfully.

  • Download the WanamLite Custom ROM firmware package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your phone to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then place the downloaded zip file in your phone.
  • Once placed, disconnect the phone and turn off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in Galaxy S III GT I9300 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button).
  • While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Also, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware.
  • Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from internal sd card” and then select the “Wanam lite Custom ROM Firmware Zip File”. Once you have selected the file, it will take around 3 – 4 minutes for applying the same.
  • It may take 2 – 3 minutes for turning ON the device and for showing the language selection and country selection options since it’s the first boot after the firmware update.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

How to Update Galaxy S3 I9300 with New XXDLH4 Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware

Procedure to Update Galaxy SIII GT I9300 with XXDLH4 Jellybean 4.1.1 Update:
  • Open the odin tool in your computer and turn off your device so that it can be entered in the download mode. Download mode in Galaxy S3 GT I9300 can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button after which you will get to see a green robot indicating that the device has entered in the download mode.
  • Up next, connect your device to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID: COM section will turn Yellow indicating that all the drivers have been successfully installed.
  • Click on “PDA” to select the “I9300XXDLH4_I9300OXADLH4_I9300XXLH1_BTU.tar.md5” and also make sure re-partition NOT ticked. Once you have selected the file, click on “Start” to start the process of firmware update. As soon as the update is applied, device will be restarted and then you will see the language selection options or the country selector option in your Galaxy S3.
  • Once it’s done, you will now need to disconnect the device and setup the phone with Google account and Wi Fi settings. If you are getting any force close errors then you need to turn off the device and enter the phone in the recovery mode.
  • In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” for clearing out all the cache data present in your device. Once it’s done, select “reboot system now”.
  • Recovery mode in Galaxy S3 GT I9300 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button).
Tip: Just in a rare case if the device doesn’t boot up or gets into the continuous Boot loop mode, you need to reinsert the battery and boot the device normally. Or else you need to re-apply the update by following the steps above.

In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition” for clearing out all the cache data present in your device.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

How to Update Galaxy S3 GT I9300 with Latest Omega v12 Custom ROM firmware

Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy S III GT I9300 phone with Omega v12.0 Custom ROM Firmware:
  • Download the Omega 12 Custom ROM Firmware Package from here to your computer. Connect your device to the computer and then place the downloaded zip file in your Galaxy S III. Ensure that you haven’t placed the zip file in sub folders.
  • Once you have placed the zip file, disconnect the device and turn off the device so that it can be entered in the recovery mode.  Recovery mode in Galaxy S2 GT I9100 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”.
  • Select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware. If the device boots in the normal mode, then you need to retry entering the device in the recovery mode. You can also enter into recovery mode with the help of CWM application in ROM Manager app.
  • Now, up next you will have to select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from internal sd card” and then choose the Omega 12 Custom ROM Firmware Package which you placed in your device. Once you have selected the file, it will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying the same. Please note that it will take more than 5 minutes for booting the device since it’s the first startup.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

How To install CM10 (JellyBean) with a kexec compatible recovery


1. Copy the d2vzw_recovery.img, cm10 rom, and gapps to the root of the internal sd card (not the ext-sd card)


2. download terminal emulator from google play and run it


3. (This will install the k-exec compatible cwm recovery)

(Skip if Recovery is already installed)
type the following commands
su
dd if=/sdcard/d2vzw_recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18 bs=256k
sync
reboot recovery

4. Once in the new recovery, make a backup of current stock rom just in case something goes wrong or you dont like it.


5. Wipe data, cache, dalvic cache and install cm10 and gapps reboot.


6. You are now running Jelly Bean
