Bharti Airtel and HTC bring First Android Powered Phone to India

 HTC MagicHTC Magic has become India’s first Android phone, as HTC and Bharti Airtel announced its upcoming availability in the world’s second largest mobile market.

Other than that, its features are similar to the ones of the original Magic, including: Android 1.5 OS, 3.2 inch HVGA touchscreen display, G-sensor, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, web browser, email and a 3.2 autofocus camera with video recording.

Customers will be able to find the HTC Magic at Airtel Relationship Centres and authorised HTC resellers in 17 important Indian towns.

The retail price of HTC Magic is of 29,900 ($616). Airtel’s subscribers who buy the smartphone will be provided with 100MB/month of free data download, for 6 months.

HTC Magic was recently announced in the US too, branded as T-Mobile MyTouch 3G, and it will be introduced soon in many other markets around the world. So it’s no wonder that HTC plans to sell the smartphone in 1 million units by the end of the summer.
