Sony Ericsson W995. The first of it’s kind, combining all of Sony’s Walkman traits with their Cyber-shot goodness in one compact and beautifully designed phone. The Sony Ericsson W995 is simply a Walkman phone with a difference; it takes photography seriously… Previously just an after thought with Walkman phones, the W995 brings photography to the forefront with an 8.1 Megapixel camera loaded with extras such as face detection, an image stabiliser, Geo-tagging and Sony’s BestPic application. Let’s not forget though, the W995 is first and foremost a Walkman phone meaning alongside the latest version of the popular Walkman player, you get support for MP3, AAC and MPEG4, TrackID, Shake control and SensMe (set up playlists by mood).

Running the latest version of the Walkman software provides a slick interface and easy access to all your music whilst the N96 style kickstand turns your phone into a miniature boom box (and also doubles as a handy video player) and now we can officially say that there will defiantely be an 8GB card included in the box which is a handy little extra and should definitely prove to be the icing on the cake for music lovers who just cannot cut their playlists down. HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS round off the specs for the most powerful Walkman phone ever released.

The Sony Ericsson W995 is an impressive addition to the Sony Ericsson range with others such as the new 12.1 megapixel Satio due for release in a few months time. For the first time, choosing a Walkman phone doesn’t mean making compromises in other areas and im sure that’s something that appeals to not only myself but plenty of others out there who have just been waiting for Sony to finally create something like the W995. With stock expected around the 5th of June, the W995 is destined to be a big hit. It is available to pre-order in both Black and the exclusive Silver variant.
