Rogers lowers price of HTC Dream/Magic

Rogers lowers price of HTC Dream/Magic to $99.99 (3-yr contract)in a surprising move, has dropped the price of both Android phones to just a mere $99.99 on a 3-yr contract. That’s a significant $50 off its original selling price when it hit the market just last month. Apparently, the price adjustment was brought about by the lack of interest of Canadians in these new Android phones opting for the tried and tested BlackBerry smartphones and the more popular iPhone.

While the poor performance of the HTC Dream and Magic may not be good news for Rogers as it pushed them to implement an untimely and most likely undesired price reduction for the said phones, this is a great opportunity for you guys out there to finally bag yourself an Android phone at a very reasonable price. Of course, you could wait for the new HTC Hero Android phone, which incidentally was recently approved by the FCC, to hit the scene, but that will probably be more expensive and God only knows when it’ll become available in Canada.
