Samsung Link QWERTY smartphone

Samsung Link QWERTY smartphone aficionados will have something new to look forward as the latest buzz on the interwebz indicates that Bell will be releasing the new Samsung Link smartphone on July 15th.

Details are pretty scarce at the moment as to the exact specs of this new phone, but it does come with a full QWERTY keypad onboard. The picture to the right, unfortunately, is the best image available of the device, and we’ll surely accept any help in this department if you can manage to send in a clearer shot of the Samsung Link. Will the Link follow in the footsteps of the versatile Samsung Jack or the more humble Samsung VICE? We’re keeping our fingers crossed and definitely hoping it’s more of the former than the latter, but no one exactly knows for sure right now. Likewise, we’re praying to the high heavens that the July 15th release date is more fact than fiction especially since the recent disclosure of a Bell rep revealing the release of the Palm Pre happening in June certainly didn’t materialize.

By the way it looks, the Link might be a modified CDMA version of Samsung C6625 (aka C6620), a handset that’s already available in Europe.

If so, then Canadian mobile users should expect the device to have features like: a QVGA non-touchscreen display, GPS, Bluetooth and a 2MP camera.
Bell’s Samsung Link may come to replace the Samsung Ace, currently offered for only $29.95 with a 3-yr contract agreement.

Anyway, being that this is still just a rumor and all, there’s always a 50/50 chance of this being either completely true or, conversely, false. We’ll report more on this once additional info is available.
