Samsung Pixon1 wich has recently announced an addition to their Pixon line of mobile handsets.Samsung Pixon12 is a top of the line cameraphone,but resolution isn’t the only thing that makes this a beautiful handset as it also has a 3.1″ AMOLED touch screen with a 10,000:1 contrast ratio, a fast-image saving feature with only 2 seconds of downtime between shots, an auto-focus feature, a 28mm wide angle lens and WiFi support.

Pixon12 Feature Highlights:

* An autofocus, 28mm, 12 megapixel camera lens with both Power LED and xenon flash.
* 3G with HSDPA and HSUPA radios.
* GPS and Wi-Fi.
* A 3.1” 480×800 AMOLED touchscreen.
* Standard OS with TouchWiz user interface.

The original M8800 Pixon was an attractive phone with an excellent 8 megapixel camera and a responsive touchscreen interface. For the Pixon 12, Samsung have decided to overhaul the technical aspect of the handset and only tweak the style, thus the new phone bears more than a passing resemblance to the Pixon.It is, of course, the camera which will drive the majority of Pixon 12 sales.

Leaving aside the question of whether a camera phone will ever truly compete with the compact camera in terms of image quality, there’s no doubt that a resolution of 4000×3000 provides the basis for some impressive shots, plus Samsung have promised their lens will be very high quality, so provided the sensor doesn’t let the side down, we’re in for a treat with the M8910! In addition to software enhancements such as face, smile and blink detection, geo-tagging and a smart mode, the Pixon 12 will feature touch autofocus, which sees the camera focus on the exact spot you touch on the viewfinder screen. In order to make the camera more usable in all situations, Samsung have lowered the ’save’ time in-between shots to around 2 seconds, meaning you can take more photos in the same amount of time than before.

The camera will also shoot video at 30fps and a resolution of 720×480.Samsung have been listening to feedback from the Pixon too, as they have included Wi-Fi in the Pixon 12, which joins v2.1 A2DP Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA/HSUPA in the data connection line-up. A microSD card slot will accept cards up to 16GB – which you’ll need given the large file size of a 12 megapixel picture – plus the phone has the usual line-ip of entertainment features such as an FM RDS radio, music and video player and a variety of games. Aside from the camera, we’re also looking forward to seeing the beautiful AMOLED screen in action!
