Facebook for Android has launched

facebook-for-android-has-launchedFacebook for Android app comes with a home screen widget, contact live folder, custom notifications, photo uploading through the camera, gallery, and browser, and all of the poking, wall-posting and item-liking that you can shake a stick at. I’m playing with the app a little bit on the G1 now, and I’m finding some definite setbacks that need to be addressed. For one, you can’t do a straight-up friend lookup from within the app, even from the Find key – you can only click through on links from your news feed or pull up phone numbers from the live folder. Secondly, opening pictures launches the browser, rather than pulling the pictures into the app itself.

Facebook for Android makes it easy to stay connected with friends. You can share status updates from your home screen, check out your news feed, look at your friends’ walls and user info. Share photos from your phone and can even look up to 125 friends’ phone numbers from the home screen.
