How to Update Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with JRO03H Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware


Procedure to Update Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 with JRO03H Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware:
  • First up you need to ensure that you are on the rooted firmware which you can check by downloading the app called “Root Checker”. If your device is not rooted then you will have to root the same.
  • If your device is not rooted then you will have to root the same with the help of below mentioned steps. You can be on any rooted firmware and not necessarily on a particular firmware, only thing you need to ensure is that its preferred to be on the ICS based firmware.

  • Once the device is rooted, the warranty is void. To regain the lost warranty apply the update of XXLQ5 update in your device.
  • So now once you have rooted your device, download JRO03H Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware package and Google Apps Package from here to your computer. Once downloaded, connect your phone to the computer with the original USB cable and place the downloaded zip file in your device. Don’t place the file deep into the sub folders.
  • Disconnect the device and turn off the device so that it can be then entered in the recovery mode.
  • Recovery mode in Galaxy S2 GT I9100 can be entered by holding the Volume Up button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, turn ON your device. In recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” & “Wipe Cache partition”. Additionally, select “advanced” and clear the Dalvik cache too if you are on the custom ROM firmware. If the device boots in the normal mode, then you need to retry entering the device in the recovery mode. You can also enter into recovery mode with the help of CWM  application in ROM Manager app.
  • Select “install zip from sd card” > “choose zip from internal sd card” and then choose the JRO03H Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware package & Google Apps Package which you placed in your device. Once you have selected the file, it will take around 4 -5 minutes for applying the same.
Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.
So congratulations you have successfully applied the update of JRO03H Jellybean 4.1.1 Firmware in your device. You can check the same from the path “Settings > About Phone” to check whether it has been updated or not.
