Samsung launches M8910 Pixon12, a 12 megapixel cameraphone just days after rivals Sony Ericsson announced the 12 megapixel Satio. Besides the 12MP camera resolution the Samsung Pixon12 also packs a neat 3.1 inch AMOLED screen with a stunning 10,000:1 contrast ratio. Such a screen I would like to see on the new iPhone. The Pixon12’s 28mm wide-angle lens and Xenon flash should make it easy to get high-quality indoor shots, too. Samsung say that the Pixon 12 is fast too, and users can move from shot to shot in about 2 seconds. This handset can also automatically adjust to different background and lighting conditions. Your photos can be easily uploaded to Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, MySpace, Photobucket, or Friendster
As well as 12-megapixel images, the Pixon12 can also shoot 720 x 480 resolution video at up to 30fps, recording to its 150MB of internal storage. There’s also a microSD slot happy with up to 16GB cards

The phone also features both WiFi and HSPA 3G data for blazing photo uploads and internet tasks. Bluetooth 2.1 is also on board for wireless headsets, and the Pixon12 can be connected to a PC through its standard micro-USB port.Other features like a built-in GPS module and an FM radio.

The Samsung Pixon12 will be available starting at the end of June in European countries and it wil be expanded to other regions in August, no word on pricing as yet.
