Facebook for Android has launched

Facebook for Android app comes with a home screen widget, contact live folder, custom notifications, photo uploading through the camera, gallery, and browser, and all of the poking, wall-posting and item-liking that you can shake a stick at. I’m playing with the app a little bit on the G1 now, and I’m finding some definite setbacks that need to be addressed. For one, you can’t do a straight-up friend lookup from within the app, even from the Find key – you can only click through on links from your news feed or pull up phone numbers from the live folder. Secondly, opening pictures launches the browser, rather than pulling the pictures into the app itself.

Facebook for Android makes it easy to stay connected with friends. You can share status updates from your home screen, check out your news feed, look at your friends’ walls and user info. Share photos from your phone and can even look up to 125 friends’ phone numbers from the home screen.

Pantech C790 Aladdin (AT&T)

Pantech C790 Aladdin (AT&T) has been recently approved by the Bluetooth SIG, so it might not be long until AT&T’s upcoming messaging phones is the Pantech C790, also called Pantech Aladdin – perhaps after Disney’s beloved character?

Like other Pantech phones released by AT&T (the Matrix Pro, for example), the Pantech C790 has both an alphanumeric and a QWERTY keyboard.

The Bluetooth SIG’s image of the phone is far from being great, so I had to add some brightness to it.

Verizon Samsung Intensity is a low-end phone. I thought it was perfectly operational, Qwerty keyboard works for me. Samsung makes good, sturdy, straightforward products, which I enjoy. New Verizon Phones – Samsung Intensity features include a 2.1-inch 176×220 pixels screen, 1.3-megapixel camera, full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 2.5mm headset jack, GPS, support for microSD cards up to 16GB.
